VERY IMPORTANT

We will hold guests to these T&C’s as we are a tiny business trying our best to offer the best service at the best rates possible.  We are only able to do this by having fair conditions in place.

 PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

Deposits

50%  deposit is required on the day of booking, once payment reflected in our account, your booking will be confirmed.

Balance due on arrival or the booking will be forfeited without refund.

Cancellations

Less than 7 days before arrival forfeits the deposit.  As a holding deposit, it is non-refundable and regrets no exceptions, even for emergencies, acts of God or infrastructural lapses.

Full accommodation payment has to be received before cottage keys will be released.

  All missing items, breakages in and damage to cottages, furniture, fittings, soft furnishings, roads, fences, and gardens will be charged to the guest.  No dispute or discussion regarding breakages or damage will be entertained unless a guest reports same within ONE HOUR of checking in.

Check In & Check out Times

We are a personally run business so we unfortunately only have the following times available. 

CHECK-IN 14H00-18H00

CHECK-OUT 08H00-10H00

  We will try to assist you any way we can, but IF NOT PRE ARRANGED, YOU MAY ARRIVE TO CLOSED DOORS/UNREADY COTTAGE.  Departure after 10h00 will be charged an additional night at our listed rates.  If we are expecting new guests we may access the cottage at 10h00 regardless unless otherwise arranged.

PROOF OF PAYMENT MAY BE SENT TO 0849805979

Balance to be paid in full in cash on day of arrival.

UNFORTUNATELY NO CHEQUES WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Cottages & Services

We do not guarantee a specific cottage preference.

ALL our cottages are NON SMOKING indoors; please smoke on veranda and place cigarettes in the bin provided.

ENSURE THEY ARE PROPERLY EXTINGUISHED.

The cottages are fully equipped for self-catering purposes.  Guests to please bring their own food, drinks, tea, coffee, sugar,  condiments, cell phone chargers, plug adaptors, drinking water ( we only have rainwater and borehole water) toiletries, insect repellent, sunscreen and beach towels etc.  We offer a daily menu for those wishing an evening meal at an additional cost of R75 per person.  This order to be placed before 10 am on the day.  Please note that the menu may change without notice.

We offer a Sunrise basket to enjoy in the garden or a Sunset picnic basket for you to enjoy on the sand dunes of Sardinia Bay beach.  Each basket is filled with goodies that are locally produced:

SUNRISE BASKET – BREAD, BUTTER, JAM, COFFEE/TEA, SUGAR, MILK, JUICE, EGGS, BACON, MUFFINS. R350

SUNSET BASKET – BOTTLE OF NON-ALCOHOLIC CHAMPAGNE, LIVER PATE, SPREADS, SAVORY BISCUITS, CHEESE R350. Should you require a basket, orders to please be placed 12 hrs in advance.

Complimentary tea, coffee and sugar on arrival together with a complimentary 5 litres of bottle water for drinking. You may drink the borehole water but is has a different taste. You may also use the borehole water for cooking as we do.

NO childminding services

No laundry service and no laundry allowed to be done in cottages.

There are laundries available in town. 

No transport service available.

Other Surcharges & Other Possible Costs

R100 surcharge on any exception to the Terms & Conditions we may grant at our discretion (should we allow a Sunday/Public Holiday Check-in)

Cottage servicing, firewood, breakfast, sunset baskets, braai packs etc, are at an additional cost as per booking sheet, cottage menu and rules.

Damage/missing items charged at actual cost to restore to pre-booking status, with an R150 cash deposit payable on arrival and returned to the guest on departure.

Remember:   Irresponsible guests do not incur unnecessary charges.

Please do not use hair dye or self-tan in the cottage and please keep tanning oil/lotion off our linen and furniture.

Other

No noise, light pollution. Respect fellow guests.

Please don’t speed to the gate (resident dogs, chickens and pig walk about all the time)

Please stick to the speed limits (40km) on Sardinia Bay Road.

Please be aware of cyclists, horse riders, runners and children, monkeys, guinea fowl, tortoises and all other wildlife etc in the area. 

CLOSE ALL WINDOWS BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE COTTAGE AS MONKEYS HAVE A HABIT OF VISITING AND DESTROYING CONTENTS OF COTTAGES

No wastewater or non-biodegradable objects in the toilet.

PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE WILD ANIMALS.

NO LOUD MUSIC

Remember your personal effects.

Keep cottage keys safe and hand in at reception on final departure.

NO SMOKING INSIDE COTTAGES

If you arrive with more people than booked for a cottage, the nightly person rate will apply. 

We will not consider more guests than a cottage is equipped for.

No Uber or taxi’s allowed beyond the gate.

We regret NO PETS, but Sardinia Bay Kennels, run by Aidon and Cardel, is walking distance from us. 

You are welcome to phone them to make bookings for your pets and possible visiting hours.

They will accommodate your needs as much as possible. Contact them on 0835676308.

General Indemnity

Any booking or visit to Tranquillity Cottages is subject to standard trading terms and insurance indemnity which you will be required to sign on arrival:

You acknowledge that all Tranquillity self-catering cottage facilities are used at own risk and owners are not responsible for injury or loss of whatever nature.  Note that we are on a nature conservancy with a private swimming pool and two ponds on site. 

This indemnity may NOT be altered by you even if you are a legal expert.

No indemnity = no cottage key and no refund

I/we have read and accepted the Terms and conditions presented during the booking process and have read the House Rules and Payment policy which was presented at check-in and which is also available in each cottage.

I/we enter the premises of TRANQUILITY SELF CATERING ACCOMMODATION entirely at my/our own risk.

I/we acknowledge that I/we are aware of the risks involved in being present on premises that are on a conservancy without animal-proof fencing and with the free reign of animals, insects, birds and reptiles onto the property

whilst upon the premises of TRANQUILITY and accept such risks.

I/we undertake when on the premises, to obey all rules and regulations laid down by TRANQUILITY.

I/we hereby agree that is a condition of my/our presence on the premises and/or participating in any activities that TRANQUILITY shall not be responsible for any accident or bodily injury to any person or loss of or damage to property, whether suffered by me/us or any person brought by me/us upon TRANQUILITY premises regardless of whether such injury, loss or damage results from the negligence of TRANQUILITY or from any other cause whatsoever

I/we undertake to procure that every person accompany me/us will accept the aforesaid conditions of presence as well as the terms and conditions of this indemnity and will agree

On arrival, any guest/visitor/worker is required to sign this indemnity in order to stay or be present at Tranquillity Self Catering and it is a condition of any booking, arrival or agreement
